Prayer for the City of New Orleans and Government Leaders Heavenly Father, In the mighty name of Jesus, we lift up the City of New Orleans, its City Council, City Administration, and the State of Louisiana officials before You. We thank You that all authority is established by You, and we come into agreement with Your Word in 1 Timothy 2:1–4, which calls us to pray for those in leadership. Lord, we ask that You endow every leader with divine wisdom, discernment, and understanding. Let Your Spirit of counsel and might rest upon them. Unify their hearts and minds to make decisions that align with Your will and promote righteousness, peace, and justice throughout our city and state. We specifically pray for the City of New Orleans’ financial budget. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh — our Provider. Reveal hidden resources, untapped revenue, and innovative strategies that will prevent furloughs and terminations among city employees.
