PRAYERS FOR RASM FOR APRIL 7-14 FOR PAKISTAN There are several urgent issues in Pakistan affecting women and children that call for prayer: 1. Maternal Health Crisis: Pakistan has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in South Asia, with a woman dying every 50 minutes due to pregnancy complications. Access to maternal healthcare remains severely limited, especially in rural areas. At the current pace, Pakistan is projected to eliminate preventable maternal deaths in over 120 years. 2. Child Malnutrition and Education: One in five children in Pakistan suffers from acute malnutrition, exacerbated by flooding and economic instability. Many children, especially in crisis-affected areas, lack access to education. Despite UNICEF's efforts, significant funding gaps persist for humanitarian programs ReliefWeb 3. Gender-Based Violence and Oppression: Women and girls face systemic gender-based violence, limited access to education, and lack of reproductive rights.
